Taken last week in Newtondale, North Yorkshire Moors.
Butterflies are not my 'thing', if anybody out there can confirm the ID, I would appreciate it.

You're right Amy, I spent ages comparing illustrations, the differences are so subtle!

It's a gorgeous Island....and loads of interesting places...Some avid gardeners there toooo.... :)))
Where we lived, we gardened on Blue slipper clay...tough to work, but we made it....

Yeah..I put down bits of apple to attract them..but they are quick.
A few years ago, one day when I was feeling really low, this red admiral flew into the kitchen. I was jsut sitting on a chair looking at it, thinking about a sad thing that had jsut happened, the butterfly flew around my head, landed on the wall and seemed to be looking down at me. I had tears in my eyes. The it flew gently down and landed on my arm and sat there for about 5mins..seemed to be watching me..all of a sudden I felt a burden lifted from me somehow ( cant really explain it) then it flew on to the kitchen windowsill and stayed there for about an hour. For a few days after that I saw the butterfly( assuming it was the same one lol) hovering about me as I worked in the garden..I felt.......
happy and peaceful.

Lovely story Pixi...and not as strange as it seems, there are many ways of reaching us...it's just for us to be aware...
