For a moist position. Best it has ever been in my dry soil in 15 years. In a shady position. ( remove the one in the front, no shade too dry!)

This shady border is the best it has ever been, the Sum & substance hoster is huge as is the Rodgersia.

Perfect conditions for them. If you can get plants planted in their ideal environment, its amazing how they thrive, isnt it. Ive moved my ligularia to the edge of the brook and they are so much happier than drooping in the garden beds.

You are lucky to have a stream area, providing it does not flood the property.

Luckily the stream is quite a distance from the house, a small part of the garden has flooded in the past in freak storms but the water gets away quite quickly, not a problem :)

What else?
See who else is growing Lythrum salicaria (Loosestrife).
See who else has plants in genus Lythrum.

Love it. I have them around the pond but a few in the garden too.
