Bernieh:
Medinilla flowers generally are pendulous. This species look like cummingii...which is the species I have.
Medinilla magnifica - Malaysian Orchid -- has large pink bracts before the flowers buds are developed and open.

Hi Delonix - the nursery must have got it wrong. This plant was labelled as magnifica when I bought it - I'll have to google some images and check it. Thanks.

Bernieh:
You're welcome. It is just as beautiful! I love Medinilla...I know many species are becoming available, which seem to grow well here. Medinilla magnifica is a tough plant to grow here though.
