Grape Hyacinth flowers outside of balcony in grass 6th March 2024 (Macro)

These are growing from seeds that fell into the grass outside the balcony some years ago. For at least 3, perhaps 4 years they have flowered even though the council gardeners cut them down a couple of times every year. This year they are flowering even better & yesterday when the gardeners cut the grass they left these flowering!

After returning home from picking up our granddaughter we noticed a new clump of Grape Hyacinths much further from the balcony that was flowering as well! 🤣

That's good that the gardeners respect the fact people like to see them. From seeds from your plants too.

They must have come from seeds of my plants that have been growing on the balcony for many years now. How the seed for the further away clump got there I'll never know but I'm pleased the gardeners also left them alone.
The big clump just outside the balcony railings has been flowering in that spot at least 4 years now & possibly even longer. I expect the council gardeners will cut them back when the flowers are finished but by then they will have built up extra reserves compared to previous years, so I expect them to flower even better next year!

That's a nice photo Balc. I've some this year, not as far on as yours though. It's such a lovely blue.
