I thought the same when I saw them for the first time! Besides I happened to be there when the new growth was almost at its best. :-)) Haven't been back at that time of year since they were planted out.
My wife & I have been back to Cuenca since then, (we go 2 times a year if we can but there are no set times, like holidays, as we are both retired), we are going again in a few weeks time & I'll probably get some more photos of them at that time.
