Scotkat:

Yes, the flowers are very waxy-looking. They are also very sweetly fragrant.

It is so hard to imagine all these wonderful plants flowering outside in a garden, it must be magical.

Lemondog:

This is one of many varieties I have. My largest is 10ft./ 3.2m tall which has been in the ground for about 7 years.

I mostly have tropical and subtropical flowering plants and trees. Yes, it is pretty magical and beautiful...we have so many flowering trees which will be blooming, starting in fall. I may do my first blog on winter-flowering tropical/subtropical flowering trees of San Diego.

Yes, I'll mostly likely write it around mid to late December...this is when a lot of the tropical trees are in full bloom.

This one was a casualty of the horrible drought, also. Luckily, my former neighbor has several big trees in the ground in his front yard. I can always get a big cutting.

What a shame it became a casualty but seems to be doing fine now. You are lucky to have a good neighbour.

This is an old pic. I no longer have this plant.

Thats a shame you no longer have it.
Lol I would be over there every day taking cuttings from all his trees. ?

I do have a smaller one that my previous neighbor gave me last year. It's definitely not as big as this one was, though.

Providing it produces those stunning flowers size does nt matter.
That was kind of your other neighbour.

3 Jun, 2017

The other one he gave me hasn't flowered yet. It's a small cutting. Hopefully, it'll flower this year!

4 Jun, 2017

I hope then it flowers this year for you at least you have one.

4 Jun, 2017
