We have a fairly long drive from the main road and this tree is sitting along the drive (or walk in this case)

Yes, it amazed me too. I have really never noticed that before. It is a big tree, at least 3' in diameter on the bottom. At my eye level, the pattern does not show so dramatically.

The trunk is amazing almost looks carved.
