All the flame vines are blooming. This vine is a popular vine because it's winter-blooming. Photo taken at the San Diego Zoo on Jan. 17, 2012.

You never see such a spectacular display of orange over here unless it's a Pyracanthus (Firethorn)! We get bright yellows but not oranges - at least I've never seen any plant with bright orange flowers during the winter!

It's a tropical vine which is native to Brazil. It grows very well in our subtropical climate.

Yes, it most likely would die outside in winter, in the UK. It doesn't like frost or freezing temps.
