Well looks like I've lost my gunnera but this really makes up for it, the best I've seen it, grew from seed 5 or 6 years ago and did flower for the first time last year but forgot to get a piccy, but look we have another flower spike, the leaves must be 3ft across.

Brilliant - looks very much like the gunnera - I wonder if I can get one being that bit smaller too - nice to see the pools of water the leaves collect

Its ready Carole:-), there are three plants here if I remember rightly last year there were two pink and one white flowered but only one has a bud, so far can't remember which this is.
Does seem hardier than the gunnera Paul and even though it says this prefers moist soil this isn't in a particularly moist spot and I never water it, seems to be doing well, we are on heavy clay soil though.

mmm maybe a good choice for me then should our gunnera not come off - we have heavy soils near top :):):)

Love them Kathy. How are the seeds doing?
My rheums are doing well. Thought I'd lost my old gunnera as some crowns are soggy but it is alive. What we dont need now is a late frost.
