Worcesterberries Ripening 06.08

When the foliage was trimmed back a week ago all of the fruit was green, what a difference it has made :-)

No, they are more like gooseberries, they look identical until the fruit begin to ripen when the Worcesterberry goes from green through shades of red to almost black. The Worcesterberry has a similar taste and texture to the gooseberry but is sweeter.

I wouldn't describe them as a sweet berry, like strawberry or raspberry, Jacque. They are more like a cross between currants and gooseberries.
