This one is also shade tolerant, and flowers later than my S. humilis. It should have a delicious scent, though!

You're welcome. I saw it last winter - because the scent wafted at me in a GC....so I decided to get one!

Confused what?? Lol!
I need to find one to smell! LOL!

If you go to a GC in December /January, Marie, you can't mistake the scent!

Lovely shiny leaves...
..good to know it has a lovely scent too...

Not yet, Tt - but soon enough. I had to take the photo with a flash - it was getting too dark after I planted it - so the light shone on the glossy leaves even more.

Lol! I'd never think of going to a GC in winter! Must do now though!

Ah, well - they sell nice plants like this in flower - so it's worth going to see what else is there - AFTER Christmas, naturally!

LOL! It would need to be!

When you think about it, they HAVE to get new stock in, as they need us gardeners to come back after the tacky tinsel avoidance we do! So - interesting winter-flowering or foliage plants appear! :-)))))

That's good! :~))

Enjoy browsing your photos but not good for my purse as it prompted me to go out and buy my own Sarcococca. It didn't specify which type though

????? How very odd! You'll have to post a photo of it, either on your page, or as a question, Pip. OR compare it with my two - maybe that would tell you?

Just found a label down the side of the pot which has confused me even more as it says Sarcococca hookeriana var humilis. When checking pics on here hookeriana and humilis seem to be two different types. Or is this just me getting into practice for senior moments :~))

I'll look it up in my RHS book and get back to you, Pip!

Thank you Spritz. All my books are boxed up now
31 Oct, 2009
Oh, and does that mean that a move is imminent?
31 Oct, 2009
Pip - the two names are for the same plant, according to my RHS book. There aren't two different ones - it's an a.k.a - or 'syn.' to be correct! lol.

Thanks for that Spritz. I am not going round the bend LoL.
Fingers xd move should be 12th Nov at least solicitor trying to organise it for then. Fly in the ointment is that the person buying my house completes on her sale in France on 6th and isn't back in UK until 7th so communication with her is almost nil for EAs and solicitors :~(
