I love the smell of this plant. Planted 3 of them close to the enrtance. Sort of vanilla-ish? I hope I still will be able to smell them when we come home in April.

Thanks both, Klahanie they usually flower in feburary here. Thats a shame Sticky they usually flower when they are quite young so hopfully you will get some next year. :o)

i bought it last year and it had flowers on, there are a few berries but no flowers ~ have i put it in too shaded an area?

It should be fine in the shade, mine gets very little sun and I also have a S.confusa in full shade which is also flowering well.:o)

maybe i just have to be patient, i was going to buy another little one but they weren't cheap!

bought a lily of the valley ~ thats out now instead plus a double white hellebore!

Double white Hellebore sounds nice, I have a love hate relationship with Lily of the valley I love the scented flowers but it's a bit invasive.

it doesnt grow very fast in this garden so hopefully it will be ok but im wondering if this is a different type ~ mine would normally flower in May
