San Diego Zoo - Schizolobium parahybum - Brazilian Fern Tree

These Brazilian Fern Trees are very difficult to take a really good photo of...because they are so tall...more than 50 feet /16 meters tall. Most of these trees are fairly young even though they seem large...they grow extremely fast.
They are all in bloom now. Photo taken June 9, 2009.

I'm going to plant mine Andy. Its gotten to about 2' in a pot.
Gophers is my biggest worry. I might try to mix something into the planting hole like broken glass. Any ideas?
