Time for the second flower to make its debut!

The "pointy things" will just hang Sticki. It was thought that their purpose was to help attract pollinators, but studies indicate that the Tacca is actually self pollinating (I've been doing a lot of research as I want to collect seed) and the pollination may well be complete before the actual flowers open. So the most likely purpose of these bracteoles may well be to protect the flower whilst it is still in the formation stage.

Meanie, isn't it better just to split the tubers?
14 Aug, 2011
I will - there are four babies on it too!
But, I've been trying to grow it from seed for years and want to try with fresh seed just too prove that it wasn't my lack of skill!
