Fantastic looking plant are they hardy in the Uk?

Anchorman - this T.formosana certainly is, being three years old now and having been divided to provide two large pots full of them!
The T.hirta that I posted up a couple of days ago I'm not sure about yet as it's my first year with it, but they're reputed to be hardy. I've a couple of divisions off of it to go under cover though, just in case!

I shall definitely buy some of these. They're lovely and most unusual looking.

Anchorman - both of the ones that I've posted photos of are small flowers. This T.formosana has flowers of about 25mm. The T.hirta posted previously has slightly smaller flowers.

Was looking forward to see these in full bloom after seeing the bud that you had posted earlier.It is handsome ( I don't know why I did find it a bit masculine )

Maybe it reminds you of the way that some male bird put on a display of their plumage to woo or intimidate other birds!
