It will be a few years before mine reaches that size

Think you are right Andrew, it is huge, must be over 30 years old, so a while to go, but it might bend your branch. There is a 'clump' at head height, but I think people harvest it at Xmas.
Also I think they prefer to parasitise the same host species.

Amy, on what sort of host tree? Apple ?

Amy - you need a male and a female to get any berries

Yes, I have two growing too. Do you remember introducing me to growing mistletoe Amy? We 'planted' 6 berries and two are growing, both on apple trees. The bull finches nipped them off one year but as Amy reassured me, as they had rooted (so to speak) they would return and they have - protected now with netting. Lets hope one of mine is male and one female then Andrew.

Yes Sue I have set 4 two on Bramley apple trees and two on an orange pippin apple , Andrew I've no idea what mine are male or female I picked the berries up in a church yard on a visit to Constable country in Suffolk , I had a chat with Bob Flowerdew about them he tells me you need approx 5 plants to be sure of some berries in which case I may never have any I did have a couple on a Russet apple tree but my son and OH broke the branch off while taking down an old oak tree and yes they did get into trouble !! .. I remember Dawn i'm glad they survived I hope you have better luck than me so far I must take a photo of mine you can clearly see them since the leaves have fallen from the apple trees..

Think I will just look at the council's plant, not parasitise my apple trees.
