hello my garden buddies. my husband gave me a nice surprise yesterday. He bought tickets to go to sunderland, england next month and I cant wait. My husband is from sunderland and his family lives there. I wish I could go around and visit everyone and see the beautiful gardens everyone has. But I know this is not possible, but I am going to try to get to some of the garden places, I will ask my sister in law, the only problem is I can only bring back seeds no plants or bulbs allowed. We will be there from the24 of july to Aug 11.Will tell everyone all about my trip.can anyone suggest any nice garden centres close to sunderland. the only thing I’m not going to like is missing some of my plants when they blossom. Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers for my beloved dog dusty.

Really hope you enjoy your trip to the UK, Pondlady. Unfortunately Sunderland is at the other end of the country from me, otherwise you'd be made most welcome. Have a lovely time and take l-o-o-o-ots of photos!

I hope you enjoy visiting Uk too, and hope the plants and gardens that you see makes up for the loss of missing your own in flower. Enjoy:)

Obviouslly you will have to visit family etc.. but if you get the chance get someone to pick up a little yellow book for the area you will be visiting.
These books have all the open gardens in. These are how should I say normal peoples gardens.
They usually cost a couple of ponds to enter but you can usually get a cup of tea, slice of cake and some plants, but that bit wont be any help to you.
A cheap day out though, and a sneak at other peoples gardens.
Have a nice trip.
