'Kurume' Azaleas in full bloom at Shadowlands

Dear All,
Following a canopy clearing program over the last few years, the extra light the ‘kurume’ azaleas have been receiving seems to be to their liking. This is the best display I’ve had to date from these, and I’m working on rejuvenating some of the other older ‘tired’ plants through close hand pruning after they have flowered. They seem to respond quite well (the red one had a light hand prune two years ago, and the momiji (mountain maple) behind was strongly pruned last autumn.
Best wishes,
ptarous
