Completely snowbound at Shadowlands, but thinking of Spring!

Dear All,
You may have seen on the news (BBC) that Tokyo has had a fair amount of snow today. However, we are up at Shadowlands, and now completely snowed in. We have had at least 85 cms. of snow on Saturday alone. I’ve used the snow plough twice on the driveway today, and the snow keeps coming. There is no way of getting the car out or anything. Just hunkering down and imagining the spring! Seems a long way off, but isn’t really. The greenhouse is still just about accessible because I keep digging a narrow walkway with the snow piling up nearly head high either side. My various forced builds are doing well – the crocuses are nearly out, I have a handful of dwarf trumpet daffodils that are in boom (rather incongruous with the back drop of -7 and one metre of snow. The word burners are doing their bit, we are well stocked with food, and just riding it out. Tomorrow it is due to be sunny, so I will venture out and get some snaps for you all.
Best, ptarouos

Fancy having your own snowplough! Still, it sounds as though you need it. Like the others I'm looking forward to some photos. I'd always thought of Japan as being lovely and warm - how wrong can you be?

This winter hasn't been terribly kind to many folks around the world.
Your description does sound rather lovely but best to read about it than be in it. Stay safe and I hope we can see your pictures soon.
