Why didn't my Scilla Peruviana flower?

I planted a Scilla Peruviana early last year & it is a sturdy looking plant: it survived the frost this winter without any apparent problem, but no sign of a flower. The soil is very sandy & the plant in a slightly shady position. The leaves are now dying back, as they did last year at this time. Should I persevere for another year or dig it up?

My experience of growing Scilla peruviana is that they don't flower in their first year and sometimes not even in their second. They do need full sun and plenty of water in the growing period.

Thank you Louloubelle. The plant did have plenty of sun in the growing period, just is in a bit of shade now from everything around it. Fingers crossed for next year!

Mine didn't flower, either...in loam here. Sorry, I don't really know the answer! Maybe they are short-lived?
