i want to move a lavender bush and replant it in a different position when is the best time can i move it now

How old is the plant? If it is large and woody and over say six years old, I would either take fresh cuttings or just replace it anyway though as other poster says, if you really want to keep it, perhaps leave till a little later in the year.
