Solomon's Seal Catapillars

Catapillars 1 inch long,light Grey with a black head strip the leaves on my Solomon's Seal every year, I don't want to kill them off,I just want to know what they are. They do not go on any other plant. Hope you can help.

They are Solomon's seal sawfly caterpillars. There are similar ones that only go for gooseberry bushes too

And similar ones that are shredding the berberis in my garden. Horrible things!

I have these too, every year. The little beasts eat the Solomon's seal leaves but only after the flowers have died away.
