Why are nearly all my godetia plants dying?

They did seem to be coming on very well, but most have now wilted and are dying. I can't see any problem with the roots or main stem.

I have had this happen to some of mine this year. I think maybe it's due to the wind drying out the foliage and rocking the plant about too much. Most of mine are in pots and I have watered them but still some have withered. Like you I can't see any damage or disease. A disappointment this year.
