How many corn plants can you grow in a 5 gallon container and except some decent corn?

With well spaced corn plants you can get several corn cobs on each plant. When they are close together, you only get one. If you can space yours about a foot apart in the container, and keep it well watered, you should be able to get some good corn. I'd be interested to hear how good the results are when you get your corn.
