How do I stop crows nicking my plums?!
United Kingdom
I have a small (about 14 feet tall) plum tree. For 9 years we got fruit off it without any problems, but last year in the space of a couple of weeks and just before the fruit fully ripened, birds stripped the tree. It has happening again this year and I finally saw the culprit - a crow. How do I stop this since netting a whole tree is hardly practical?

although fluff and Bbb's answers onthe face of it appear a practical and reasonable solution you may well stick the occasional bullet into one of your plums thus rendering it uneatable, its more than likely to happen in fluffs choice Aka's being fully automatic

Don't think you can really. don't know if hanging something shiny/noisy in the tree will scare them off. Was thinking of cd's...they seem to work on veggie beds..
