Your Laurels have mildew, spray in the evening after cutting off affected parts.

This is Shot hole disease. Very unpleasant. Possibly if you remove all infected leaves and destroy them new growth may remain clear. I have looked this up on Google and it seems to be a fairly common trouble with My personal experience of this is that it seems to occur on bushes that are growing well. I had a number of pot grown Laurels seriously in need of repotting, but completrely free of this disease, wheras A large bush near the house ., has been badly damaged and I have removed all new growth, which was very green and lush.

Blimey! Three different answers there Hev - what you gonna do? I'm not sure what it is, but I'd nip out and buy some Roseclear 3, mix it up according to the instructions for fungal infections like mildew, which I think means double dosing (but check the label) and spray them all and hope for the best. Roseclear 3 treats for infestations and fungus type infections - its worth a try and you'll be covering most of the bases. I've seen this before on these plants - they usually survive, they're pretty tough. You could give them a feed with Miracle gro general purpose to give them a boost, but don't do it after this weekend.

If there is webbing between the new leaves, it's a moth caterpillar. It's quite common unfortunately.
