We have an Agave plant which is flowering at an amazing rate does this mean that the plant itself will die
If so will I be able to get seeds or cuttings to re- plant?

I am also no expert but I have an Agave which has very lethal spikes on the leaves and has, as yet never flowered. Your plant looks more like a Yucca, in which case it will flower with no detriment to the plant.

I agree with Patfran - its a Yucca, not agave.

I am no expert on this amazing plant but have read that their flowering is a once in a lifetime event which heralds its demise. Apparently you can collect seeds from it and will hopefully get new plants.
