I have loads of raspberry canes which have lots of lush green leaves on them but no fruit. What can I do?

If these are the canes that grew this year they will not have flowers and berries. Raspberries have a two year cycle, they grown the cane in year one and fruit on it in year two. Once the cane has finished fruiting you cut it back to the base. We also trim the new canes at about 5 foot to make picking the berries the next year easier.

Don't forget Autumn Raspberries, these are cut down in February and fruit from August the same year.

Flowerlover you can be as sorry as you like that we live in Scotland - wouldn't trade it for anywhere else in the world.
