I bought it under the general label of 'potted colour' and I really like it. I don't know if it's possible to propagate???

This is Salvia Splendens or Red Salvia or Scarlet Sage. It is indigenous to Brazil where it is a perennial but is treated as an annual in more temperate regions. It is possible to save the seed from this plant and sow them next spring for summer flowers.

Isn't it mid-winter now in New South Wales, in which the plant is probably intended as a house plant?

Isn't it annoying when plants are labelled so ambigously? How can you look after them properly when they are called 'potted colour' or 'foliage plant'?

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Bertie, even in winter it can get VERY HOT here... I wouldn't worry if I were you :-)
