When will I get heads on my mammoth sunflowers

I planted seeds in my garden the end of May 2009 and there are very tall stalks but no heads yet.I will post a picture taken July 18th to show you. Some have grown another foot sense last week. I live in Illinois close to Chicago.

Don't worry.....the flower heads will appear soon. When they reach their full height they will top out in flowers. If they are giant sunflowers their top height could be 10 feet or more.

I am also waiting for mine to get heads and they are easily 8ft but i wouldnt expect anything till end of august.

Don't worry, there's time enough yet. I live in one of the mildest areas of England, and my Giant Sunflowers have only now started to form buds. I know that some of the smaller varieties are already flowering, but the giants tend to be later.
