my green beans are hollow and they are a light greencolor with purple stripes running throught them,,and they have blue beans inside

I'm wondering what sort of beans these are? I note you are in the USA - I'm in the UK and I'm not sure what you mean by 'green beans' lol Anyway, all i was going to say is that there are some unusual varieties around that do come in funny colours and you might have one of those?

It's always better to know the source of your seed, but I'd guess this is something like blue Coco beans. If they are clearly beans of some type (leaves of plants are the same) they are almost certainly edible, but don't forget that any bean is slightly poisonous if eaten raw, and they are all better cooked.
