Does anyone, or everyone, think I should clear out my tomatoes from the greenhouse? We had a hard frost here last night & it was enough to touch a couple of my plants in the g'house with the door closed!!!!!
Not sure whether to leave what's left in there.............:(

Tomatoes stop growing when the temperature drops below 50 deg f, so unless you use a heater, you may as well get rid of them, also the length of daylight is a factor, so you would need growlights as well as a heater.
I think the time has come to dump them, Derek.

If you do dump the plants save all the green tomatoes, and spread them out somewhere indoors with a few banana skins or one or two ripe tomatoes, which will help the green ones to ripen off. Pity to throw them away.

Thank you to everyone. I don't think I will just dump them. I will try & ripen some indoors, they will do for cooking!
btw Noseypotter I have had some lovely toms & quite a lot of them through the season & I am not much of a gardener!! Trial & error that's me! I have just been lucky.

You may assist well as the summer hasn't been great for tomatoes and you can get a nice clean start for next year's crop and thow the sun is out its definitely autumn now. Just my opinion ofcourse. Any that might be left can ripen on the window sill.
