im new to gardening ,how do i get seed from sweetpeas for planting next year?

Well, you get them from the pods, when the flowers have died off....they produce a pod like garden peas. Let the seeds grow and swell and when the pod begins to dry and split, its time to collect the seeds. Pop them into a paper bag and store them in dry conditions till Autumn or next Spring. You can plant them either time of year.

And, as Janey said they need to be dry when you pick them - not green, think of the dried peas you can by in the supermarket to put in your soup.
