Seeking name of Eryngium with blue stems

Saw interesting Eryngium in Birmingham Bot.Gardens.
Could not find name and available staff unable to help.
Bright blue stems were the attraction and the leaves were large-spined and slightly variegated, low on the plant
On plant
Eryngium planum

I think its Eryngium bourgatii - the basal leaves have silver veining and the stems are coloured too

As Bamboo says - Sounds like it might be Eryngium bourgatii but the 'Pico's Blue' one comes to mind as it is a striking plant with variegated leaves and very blue stems and heads.

This sounds as if it might be Eryngium alpinum.
