By Timid

I have two Victoria plum trees - this is the third season.
Why is it some branches bear fruit and some don' t
consistently? How do you prune and when?

« the tree is 18months old and we didnt have the problem last year
Does it flower? Mine flowered well but we had 4 fruits!! The pigeons sit in the tree and eat the flowers/buds!! It's best to only prune plums in summer (July-ish) as they may get silver leaf disease otherwise. Fruit should be thinned to one every 4 inches otherwise the tree may only bear fruit in alternate years.
