Identify this plant anyone?

United Kingdom

Nice little thing - comes up every year in a small clump - flowers close up at night - seems happy under tree in shade - doesn't like strong sun (flowers wilt).

Its Oxalis acetosella, commonly known as Wood Sorrel, likes shade, spreads. Iron Cross is a different variety, Mookins;-)

This can be a bit of a pest, so be careful. It has really deep roots with little rhizamous ends on them, if you want to get rid of it, but don't get those up you will not get rid of it. I've just spent most of the Summer getting rid of most of it, not all of it, I do like it but not that much!!!

It can be very invasive and you usually can't find it in the garden centre, they don't seem to sell it. I think it must be some kind of hybrid though, because I know the native wood sorrel is paler pink than this, sometimes white, but I have seen this growing wild down here in great sheets!
