HI THERE, DOES ANYONE THERE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE GROWING OF VINES? I AM IN THE SECOND YEAR OF THIS VINE AS AS YOU WILL SEE BY THE PHOTO IT IS DOING WELL. FOR THE CARE OF THIS VINE ON THE LABEL IT SAYS 2nd SEASON....DURING THE GROWING SEASON CUT ALL THE SIDE SIDE GROWTHS TO TWO LEAVES AND RUB OUT ANY FLOWER BUDS. DOES THIS MEAN CUT IT RIGHT BACK ? THEN SAYS IN THE WINTER CUT BACK THE SINGLE CANES GROWTH BY A THIRD.
WELL I AM HAVING TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING THAT AS IT IS ALL NEW TO ME, I AM LEARNING FAST BUT THIS HAS GOT ME.
SO IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

You need to form a rod which is growth 2 years plus old. After the leaves fall, bring the rods down to a horizontal position. In March you can put them up again to a strong wire away from the wall at 45 degrees. Feed in February with Blood, Fish & Bone mixed with soil/compost.

i'd get a book i had one once and it can be complicated especially when it comes to cutting away the grapes to leave room for bigger ones, but as to pruning i think its rather like an espalier fruit tree horizontals and spurs
