Are my mammoth sunflowers ready to be cut and dried

I would like to get the sunflower seeds off of my sunflowers. I am not sure if they are ready to cut down to dry . Can someone let me know by looking at my pictures I just took them today 9-12-09? I live in Rockford Illinois and I planted them the end of May by seed

I would leave them for another week or two then they should be ready. you can either leave them on or cut them off are you intending to feed them to the birds? as they love the seeds.
