I have a begonia that I want to overwinter as well - apparently you can store the tubers, although I don't know where I'd put it/them. I'm planning on moving my plant into the garage (by a window) and hopefully that will suffice. Good luck with yours :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply, as I said we have 100 and they will have to go in the garage, someone did tell me to keep them frost free so be careful near the window.

You have to let them dry out first, put them on trays then leave them somewhere cool to dry. I then put mine in paper bags until next year.
I've never had any bother with mine,Good luck.

The best way I have found for storing Begonias, is clean seed trays filled with peat. When all the growth has come away from the tuber, dust the raw ends with sulphur, place them in a seed tray almost touching, dust again with sulphur, cover with peat. Store in the dark in a frost free building. In February, put the trays on a shelf in the greenhouse. Water well to start new growth. Pot up in John Innes no. 2 when leaves appear and roots start growing.

I overwinter mine just like Stripes, except I just roll mine in newspaper and put them in the garage which in our case is drier than the garden shed, I have done this for many years and so far been very lucky, the important bit is, they must be absolutely dry. I find the best way to do this is on a sunny warm day I put mine on a tray in the shade, the air alone dries them somewhat. Good luck to you
