I wouldn't recommend liming anything at this time of year.

Greengages do not seem to care one way or another about the alkalinity or acidity of the soil, as long as it is not too much one way or the other. So unless your greengage is chlorotic (ie yellow leaves in Summer) it does not need lime to thrive.
