Not sure, but the leaves further back are full green with no marks on them and the centre growth looks healthy to.

Oh yes, the plant is perfectly healthy, whatever has caused those marks. I was just curious as to whether it was rust, or simply some previous damage to the leaves that caused them.

The plant never gets cover in winter now, even the last winter where there was all that snow and colder weather it came out of it untouched.

I never cover mine either, but then I live in West London - it gets cold, but I'm sure its colder up there.

We never see more than -4 here really.

Well I'm amazed - that's not much different from here.

All the lower leaves on my cordy have those orange marks...they are very unsightly....I assumed it was rust....does anyone know what to do about it please?....:>)

Well hang on, does it look like a deposit on the leaves that can be shifted if you rub it a bit? Or is it IN the leaf, not moveable? If the latter, its rust, spray with a fungicide, not much point this time of year, do it next spring.

Wont rub off Bamboo...tried the fungicide earlier this season...it didnt do very much to help....thanks...

I've just reread my previous answer, and i got it the wrong way round, I meant to say, if its on top of the leaf and shiftable ( a bit) then its rust, not the other way around, sorry!
In that case, Motinot, it's just damage to the leaves by who knows what, but as long as the plant's growing and healthy otherwise, it's not anything to worry about.

If you have a cordyline planted in full sun, what is the growth rate per year.
26 Oct, 2009
No idea, never measured it. Probably varies according to availability of water and nutrients and the weather anyway.

Well it does, except for the orangey yellow marks near the base of the leaves. Are they a deposit on the leaves that can be rubbed off, or actually damage within the leaf?
