aperantly' they like either damp or dry shade' they do not like costal areas'chalky soil'or exposed/windy areas,but they are worth a try ,they are evergreen and very sented.

i have it growing in chalky soil in quite deep shade under the large beech tree in my garden. it is growing slowly but steadily.

I have three different ones, all growing in shade in dryish soil (where practically nothing else will)
