how do i keep my christmas rose alive until it can be planted outdoors in the spring?

Except of course if your soil is frozen (or covered in snow!)
If you can't plant it out for the above reasons, then keep it in a sheltered place outdoors (maybe a cold frame?) and bubble-wrap the pot to stop the roots from freezing.

I dont see why you cant plant it out now as they are very hardy.
