can i plant out primroses and primulas now in a container without fear of frosts

And even when the frosts pass, you must harden them off first if they've been under cover!!

I know its freezing at the moment but I have just potted out into a container loads of primulas from the garden centre and they seem to be doing well.It IS the time of year for them to be out in the garden anyway, but I have put the container next to the house wall for a bit of warmth and shelter.

I would not recommend planting anything out right now!

It does depend where they were grown. Here in Pembrokeshire the wild primroses on sheltered banks are full of flowers already, but they are outside all year round. Plants grown in glasshouses will need lots of gradual hardening off this weather.
