My daughter's healthy vine now has fungus growing on it about 12" from ground level can anyone identify it and suggest a treatment please

I agree with the id and it is usually found on elder , alder so unusual on a vine. also not aware of any treatment.

Thank you Seaburngirl yes I have looked it up now and it is definitely jelly ear, this is the first time it has appeared so hope it wont harm the vine :o)

it is an edible one of the only ones that lasts all year, very good in stews apparently but i personally haven't been able to get over texture of it (by touching) but as with all mushrooms if your not 100% sure then do not eat!

its rather bland in flavour, aten it lots of times, texture does improve on cooking haha
