My husband and team members, have been raking their cricket square over the past few days. Believe it or not they have raked over 100 barrow loads of moss so far wonder what to do with it. Does it compost? Would it be combustible if left in a heap?

You can work it into heavy soil to lighten it. Better if you mix it with compost and bark.

Thank you both, I have used moss for lining hanging baskets but this is just too much and the pitch is in the middle of nowhere. I think they will have to take it to the local amenity tip.

Hi Cammomile, I have found that moss raked from a lawn does not compost, nor does it burn very well, see if you can find someone who sells hanging baskets, and will be willing to take it off your hands.
If you have a large bonfire, you can throw a few fork fulls at a time onto it, but it will not burn if left in a heap, Derek.
