The sight I want to use for a new kitchen garden has some rhododendrons and azaleas on it. I have tested the PH and that is fine, but do these plants poison the earth for planting once they have been removed? All suggestions gratefully received!

Hi Bob no the rhodos and azaleas do not poison the ground. You will need to add a lot of good compost as they will have impoverished the soil. Do not however consider adding manure this year unless it is in something like bean trenches.
