The leaves on my cucumber plants are turning white and becomeing very brittle. Can someone please tell me what this is and how to fix?

When this happened in the greenhouse it was usually due to lack of humidity and I had to damp the greenhouse down.

I don't know what your weather's like there, but the usual cause of whitening like this is the temperature being too low, in other words, cold damage.
