As you know Trilliums grow from rhizomes and each rhizome can send out several shoots. Unless you hae a really big plant there are unlikely to be many rhizomes to split and, even then, it is chancy as Spritzhenry says. I would suggest thay you just enjoy your nice large trillium as it is.

Yes I did know and yes I am going to just enjoy the pleasure .They are all growing well where I have them planted they have been there for some yrs .
And buy new as I need to finish another area of my garden border in trilliums and helebores which will meet up to where I have planted my 2nd Nancy Evans Rhodendrum thank you Bulba.

It's complicated, Kath. I read the RHS advice on propagating them, and I'd advise you to go on their site and read it. It seems you can, but only if you have a well-established clump.
