My beetroot is starting to bolt and the beetroots are about the size of golf balls is they anything I can do to stop them going to seed so the beetroots will get bigger.

Some varieties of beetroot are supposed to be golf ball size, mine were last year and they are this but they were fine.
I pickled them last week, then saw the Dr about a minor problem who put me on a diet. Guess what's forbidden - beetroot, among other things !
